The Petition .pdf files were removed from the Holmestead server in March 2003.
The signatures were tabulated and then presented to Parliament on Tuesday, 3 June 2003 by Mr. John Herron (Fundy-Royal, PC) who serves as the Environment Critic for the Tories. 1180 signatures were submitted.
Please note that because of the Summer recess we do not expect to have a response tabled in the House until after Parliament resumes sitting in September.
At 2 September the office of the Clerk of Petitions, House of Commons, was contacted after returning from their Summer recess and a request was made for an estimate of the date when a response to this Petition should be tabled in the House. The 45 days mentioned in the official text does not make it clear that this is "sitting" days so this extends the period in this case to around 18 November 2003, over a year from when this whole Petition process was initiated.

The statement made with the presentation is recorded in Hansard:
"Mr. John Herron (Fundy-Royal, PC): Mr. Speaker, I am presenting a petition on behalf of Mr. Brian Holmes of Ontario regarding aerial spraying. Mr. Holmes has collected signatures from across the country from concerned Canadians who believe that chemicals used in aerial sprayings are adversely affecting the health of Canadians.
The petitioners call upon Parliament to stop this type of high altitude spraying. The petition has been duly certified by the clerk and I present it at this time."
Thanks to everyone who has participated. Now that the Petition has been presented, it is sent to the Government, which must table a response in the House within 45 days.

The completed Petition about to be sent to Ottawa.
Although online petitions appear to be a simple and attractive option - just click and it is done - they are virtually useless because those the petitioners are attempting to reach will not look at anything unless it follows the official rules and contains original signatures. For more on this see the Canadian requirements (updated URL for 2009): Petitioning the House of Commons.
Therefore, after a certain amount of work and invaluable legal advice, we have a Petition here that is drawn up to meet the requirements for presentation to Parliament by a Member of Parliament. The prayer, or request, contained in the Petition was reviewed 6 November 2002 by Marc Toupin, Clerk of Petitions, House of Commons, and found to meet the requirements of the House.
The file is in Adobe Acrobat or .pdf format for the purposes of uniformity of presentation and printing. Most computers have the file reader installed but if not the free reader is available here for download: Adobe web site
Print out or photocopy as many pages of the Petition as you think you can fill with signatures of family, friends and associates. We know some people will be going door-to-door around here. We hope to gather signatures from coast to coast. If you have any questions please e-mail us - there is a link below.
Although we have set a date in the New Year of 1 March to gather the Petition together please send along any completed sheets whenever you have them. The specific instructions are in the English .pdf file here: Please note this Petition ended in 2003.

The text of the English Petition and prayer as approved and signed:
PETITION TO THE HOUSE OF COMMONS IN PARLIAMENT ASSEMBLED
WE, the undersigned residents of Canada draw the attention of the House to the following:
THAT high altitude aerial spraying has been observed occurring over Canada; from British Columbia to Newfoundland; for at least the last two years;
THAT this aerial spraying has been carried out by large military type jet aircraft that create white plumes which evidence suggests are chemical-laden (hereinafter "chemtrails") and often seen in the form of large "X's", "O's" and checkerboard patterns;
THAT this aerial spraying has been carried out without the knowledge or consent of the Canadian electorate;
THAT chemtrails in the atmosphere across Canada can only adversely affect the health of our population, especially children;
THAT Canadians have the inalienable right not to be sprayed with massive amounts of chemicals from the sky for whatever purpose;
THAT many concerned citizens have already attempted to obtain explanations of this aerial chemtrail spraying activity from their elected representatives and from various government departments but with no success.
THEREFORE, your petitioners call upon Parliament to take the following actions:
(1) to immediately order the cessation of all high altitude aerial spraying in Canadian air space;
(2) to immediately disclose the purpose of the aerial spraying that has been occurring in Canadian air space;
(3) to immediately disclose to the Canadian public the chemical composition of the materials that have been sprayed in Canadian air space in order that affected individuals may take whatever remedial health actions are advised;
(4) to immediately disclose to the Canadian public when the program of aerial spraying began, the amount of chemicals sprayed over Canada to date, the locations of the spraying, and the number, type and ownership of the airplanes which have been carrying out the spraying.
